O.P.A.L.S.: A Fellowship of "Older People with Active LifeStyles"
O.P.A.L.S. - Are you a "Snow Bird" or year round resident and would you like to fellowship with other winter or year round residents? The OPALS is a friendly, loosely organized group of Older People with Active Lifestyles. Not always the absolute truth in the sense of activity; but surely active mentally and socially.
The OPALS meet on the third Thursday of each month January-April at Cypress Wood Presbyterian Church for a pot-luck lunch and to enjoy the slide shows of Herman Moll, our resident talented and renowned nature photographer. The OPALS have also enjoyed activities such as a tour of the Corkscrew Sanctuary, a picnic at the Delmar-Wiggins State Park, and a tour of ECHO.
There are no registration fees for the monthly lunch. We meet because we have found out how interesting and fun it is to be with our fellow worshippers. This has given us a sense of belonging to a church family and blessed us with the gifts of friendship. This year we might move into some service activities - even, on-site. When you see our plans , YOU are certainly invited to join us. Just sign up for any activity we post, e-mail us at office@cypresswoodpca.com call the church office at 353-8444. what to bring, etc. Come and join us for fellowship and fun.
